The picture of the angular freshness of the new leaves in the early
summertime of this nearly endless day of the White Pass and its 18 hours of
sunlight, portraying a vivid greenness, a ruggedness of green, only seen at
these latitudes in the far north or perhaps the far south of the planet Earth.
And the trees echo the angularity of the mountains behind them. And also the
rolling -- the endless rolling -- the mountainous wall of rock and the cut of
the notch of the White Pass Railroad, and cloudy sky.
