Preening Gull, Another Looks to the Sea.

The seagulls set the mood between the passivity of the massive rocks and the action of the relentless sea. They lend an air of indifference and pensive understanding to the scene.

The markings on each bird is like a living book; a record of predecessors and generations over the ages. In this view their images have as much to say as anything else. You might catch yourself in a sense of mild contempt towards them, imagining their small forms to be somewhat cute in a pesky sort of way, but then you might come to realize that perhaps they are nature's billboards of reality that inform an observant eye of things he or she need not understand to comprehend.

In like manner though quite different as well, the speckled dapples of the foam in the background and the specks of the choppy swells beyond the waves also serve as a book of life as well. Perhaps the other aesthetes pick that up as they walk the sands waiting to see the awesome sight of the sun sinking red beyond the horizon on this Winter day.
