The Moth-and-Flame Syndrome
There are elements of probability, and I stress probability, that there may be ramifications already
existent of the aforementioned "biotic interface" generally and obtusely referred to in biology circles as "symbiosis". Not the usual type such as certain bacteria and
koala bears who therefore specialize on only a certain type of eucalyptus leaf as diet but an actual communication of sorts, in which the
ambulant multiorganism seems driven by something, be a fungi as in the quest for truffles, or a plant such as wheat (benefiting from monoculture), or, arguably, toxic micro organisms, deadly diseases that as the scenario suggests, "command" the "carrier" to convey them to their hosts.
In fact germ warfare may be a manifestation of the moth-and-flame syndrome, as I
have named it above. Too far fetched, you might quip. Get help, some
might add? Well, open your eyes, motor-mouth and look at the
pattern. Look at the behavior of mankind, in all it's glorified intelligence
and it's infatuation with infectious disease insomuch as someone driven to mail
anthrax to Tom Daschle. Call em' as you see 'em and we'll let you call
the help line next.
