United States Governed by Minority
The majority of the United States public is apathetic and self-defeating.
I have traveled over fifty thousand miles in the United States and in my
contact with the peoples that comprise the majority of the voting populace, I
have discovered not only an apathy but also a disdain for the exercise of all
rights afforded them by the constitution and other auspices of dictums of civic
duties in force in the United States.
The average attitude was that such exercises of obligation such as voting or
expression of opinion such as writing or emailing representatives and so forth
was in the average consensus foolish and that the average individual I spoke
with imagined him or her self above such matters.
therefore it's not out of place to note that their lot in life has no place, or
eventually will be ignored, by the process of government and such programs as
public medical concerns and old age benefits for the poor with eventually go
ignored except for the occasional deference from the legislations and executives
elected by the minority of the rich and powerful that can and do vote and also
lobby and petition.
This is not just unique to America. I found the same to be true in Australia,
however the Australians, at least while I was visiting, required their voters to
vote by law.
