The main success of math has been in the discovery of those counterparts and working exclusively in that domain. Heretofore the acknowledgement that far more numerous domains exist beyond those does not seem to have yet been put foreword. Think of the real world as an ecosystem and the world of mathematics as a prestidigitator's side-show tent at a small visiting circus. This by no means diminishes the discoveries of the great mathematicians, but it casts present-day math in it's proper light, that there is so much more out there and complacency is not in the cards.
