Beyond Man's Mental Hatred

by Paul Hall, 20th of April, 1986, Tenant Creek, Australia

Silence.  Silence.  Silence of what had always been.

Of what had once been ended.  Of what could once begin.

For I hold here a secret with my friend the wind.

Beyond man's mental hatred, beyond thought's guesswork sins.

That secret I can tell you, for you have read thus far,

beneath this is a lattice which suspicion cannot mar.

The lakes and rivers freely flow beneath this sun-bleached crust.

Beyond all tourist cameras, beyond hate and distrust.

Above arcs forever in star-dust and in blue,

where warfare's bitter onslaught will it never refer to.

Silence.  Silence.  -- Silence of what has always been.

Of what had once been ended and could someday begin.

 I hold here a secret...
