The Desert Land Without the Sun

by Paul Hall, April 20th, 1986, Tenant Creek, Australia.

The desert land without the sun,

and in the dark of night,

it speaks of beds where walked the feet

of energies and light.

The skies are bright with colors

of rose and china blue

and in between, an emerald green

with bright tints coming through.

The crickets are now sounding.

My shoulders feel the cool,

and this was once the gallery

where sunlight was it's fuel.

The desert plants are softened

in so subdued a light.

And quietly they wait there,

preparing for the night.

Venus brightly gleaming

in a gently violet sky.

The moon will soon be rising

with a comet whizzing by.

The desert land without the sun,

and in the dark of night,

it speaks of beds where walked the feet

of energies and light.
