Speed of Light: Fractional Delay
The speed of light may actually be not the velocity of a particle traveling at all. It may actually be a
nudge of any quanta we deem a light source into a substantive element pervading all matter that produces a virtually equal
nudge at the point of the receptor with only a fractional delay. The quantitative delay from
origin to reception times distance indicates a travel through a substance. Therefore the speed of light is the rate of transmission, much like sound traveling through air or water or even solids.
Therefore the elusive wavicle as some call what is imagined to be the light
wave, is not too different than the sound wave, only that it passes through a
different substance, a non-material substance. Actually that may be the
same substance that causes sound transmissions since it must also pervade matter
if it exists. The sound wave itself can be thought of as only that which
passes through gas. The sound waves that pass through liquids or solids
might merit their own description as variant as the term light is from
sound.
Treating them as such separate entities may have added to the misunderstanding of more important and useful concepts of the universality of all impulses. In addition, the concept we tend to hold of the emptiness of outer space may have kept us from a greater understand of practical applications of nonmaterial substances. One such substance in use is observed by the use of high magnetic so-called "fields" to contain superheated plasmas. Such hot stuff actually helped us to start thinking out of the box because here we had something tangible to deal with.
So, no offense, but get off the high horse. You might start getting somewhere if you take the more chaste rat-in-the-maze sort of self esteem. Your choice, Norvigicus or Rattus. Somewhere out there, behind the right door, is the golden peanut. Hey, what are we after here, anyway? Discovery or dignity. If it's honors you're after, go back to the era of flogistan.
That might help us, for example to get a better grip on superconductivity. Have you ever resisted the temptation, as a kid, to put your finger in the light socket and flip the switch? Well, one little nine-year-old idiot had to try it. Yours Truly. Who also had the chance to experience indirect lightning at the age of 3O. There was a contrast between the two. With the direct current of the lightning, I felt as though a wave on a clear beach seaside had passed over me as if I were submerged wearing goggles, with the alternating current I could feel the spin of the generator. Do not try this experiment at home. Serious. As you see, I survived that one to tell you. You mightn't.
The thing with light is that it might be composed of non material substance yet it comes forth from material under special circumstances. In conductivity of electrons, do they pass through or do they bump one in and then one out at the "ground". If the latter then the speed of conductivity is the relationship with the entity and the material it's composition is a part of. Copper gave me an analogue observation of the source of generation of the electrical power.
