The Glacial Erratic Rock
The Glacial Erratic Rock Strewn throughout central park and everywhere in that part of New England are huge boulders left in place after the glaciers receeded. I was sitting on one of these taking in the scene and getting used to the inevitability of having to start my art career in New York City, which, in reality, seems to be one of the few places in to World for an artist to be if he or she is to become seriously established. For example, while in New Hampshire, all the places I approached were interested in promoting their own precious "local" artists, as if I were trying to invade and interlope on their rightful territory. But it took some getting used to. I must say I got over my culture shock rather quickly in spite of it all. Maybe it would have taken a little longer had I known what was ahead of me. Actually I did know, to a degree, but was, like everyone else, in a sort of state of denial over it.
